Invicta FC 41 has altered their co-main event attraction. 4-1 Flyweight Stephanie Geltmacher has been forced to bow out of her match-up with 5-1, 21-year-old phenom Erin ‘Cold Blooded’ Blanchfield. Brogan Sanchez is stepping up big for a bout that will go later on this month.
Brogan ‘Killer Bee’ Walker-Sanchez (6-1) stepping up and looking to do her native Guam proud by taking on Blanchfield. She was last in action in the headlining affair of Invicta FC 37. Battling UFC veteran and former Invicta title challenger Pearl Gonzalez. This will be Sanchez’s first fight of the calendar year.
After suffering her first pro MMA career defeat, Sanchez aims to recapture the form that carried her to several victories. Key wins in the IFC cage over Invicta vet/ recent UFC signee Miranda Maverick and Cheri Muraski in the Invicta cage.
Invicta FC 41 takes place Thursday, July 30 in Kansas City, Kan. The event will broadcast live and exclusively on UFC Fight Pass at 7 p.m. CT. The event is headlined by a strawweight bout between former title challenger Janaisa ‘Evil Princess’ Morandin (10-3) of Brazil and Mexico’s Montserrat ‘Conejo’ Ruiz (8-1).
While Morandin vs. Montserrat tops the marquee, this card offers up a little something for everyone.
With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the event will take place behind closed doors — without fans and media in attendance. As with any Invicta FC event, the safety of its fighters, their corners, its staff, and commission officials is the top priority for the promotion. All participants will be tested for the novel coronavirus prior to the event.
