Paul Felder takes on Dan Hooker tomorrow night in the main event of UFC Fight Night Auckland in a pivotal lightweight clash. In the background, a rivalry has been steadily brewing between surging contender, Felder, and former two-weight world champion, Conor McGregor.
The Philidelphia native has managed two consecutive victories, and a triumph over Hooker would mark a sixth straight win over lightweight competition. Felder is fast approaching title contention, similarly to McGregor – following his forty-second knockout win over Donald Cerrone in January at UFC 246. McGregor, 31, continued his barrage of verbal insults at Felder on Twitter last night. When asked by a fan, if Felder were to meet with McGregor in the future, would he still call himself ‘The Irish Dragon’, the Roufusport trainee replied, “Wtf wouldn’t I?“. McGregor then interjected and aimed a barb at Felder directly. “The Felders are German-English. Shut up you ginger-German twat.“
