Former UFC light heavyweight champion and Hall of Fame inductee, Chuck ‘The Iceman’ Liddell has been arrested and charged with battery domestic violence in relation to an alleged physical altercation with his wife, Heidi Northcott in the early hours of Monday morning in their San Fernando Valley residence.

Liddell, 51, is alleged to have got into a verbal altercation with his wife, Heidi, which subsequently turned physical at their residence in Los Angeles, California.

In a report obtained by TMZ, Liddell remains in police custody at Lost Hills Sheriff’s Department, where he was booked, charged, and remains with bail currently set at $20,000. Liddell is expected to face charges in a court appearance in Van Nuys on Wednesday this week.

MMA Fighting confirmed that deputies were called to the 24000 block of Jim Bridger Road in Hidden Hills in the early hours of Monday morning, local, time following a call in relation to a domestic disturbance. Upon investigation by the responding officers, Liddell was placed under arrest and brought into custody after it was determined he was involved in an alleged physical altercation with his 51-year-old wife. Northcott did not require medical attention in relation to the alleged incident.

Liddell, a former undisputed UFC light heavyweight champion, confirmed his retirement from professional mixed martial arts in March of last year — having competed for the final time in November of 2018 against rival, Tito Ortiz, suffering a first round knockout in an Oscar De La Hoya promoted Golden Boy Promotions event.

A 30-fight professional veteran boasting a 21-9 record, Liddell dropped a quartet of knockout losses in his last four professional fights, including a trio of heavy defeats against Rich Franklin, Shogun Rua, and Rashad Evans.

A former light heavyweight champion, Liddell defeated Randy Couture via first round knockout to win the belt back in April 2005, before lodging a quartet of successful title knockbacks against Jeremy Horn, Couture, Ortiz, and Renato Sobral. Back in 2009, Liddell was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame as part of the Pioneer Wing.
