Invicta Fighting Championships hosted weigh-ins for Invicta FC 41: Morandin vs. Ruiz on Wednesday, July 29th. The card goes down in Kansas City, Kansas on Thursday, July 30. The event will broadcast on UFC Fight Pass beginning at 7 p.m. CT.
In the main event, ex-strawweight title challenger Janaisa Morandin (10-3) locks horns with Montserrat Ruiz (8-1). The 25-year-old Morandin makes her fifth appearance in the Invicta cage. She has fought former titleholders Virna Jandiroba and Livia Renata Souza.
Ruiz returns to the IFC cage after suffering her first career loss to UFC vet Danielle Taylor at Invicta FC 33. Prior to this defeat, she won eight straight with four finishes in that stretch.
The co-main event features flyweight contender Erin Blanchfield (5-1) tangling it up with dangerous 125 pounder Brogan “Killer Bee” Sanchez (6-1).
With any Invicta event, safety is paramount. All athletes, as well as corners, participated in testing for COVID-19 and all results came back negative.
