Both fighters come out measured early on throwing punches all while being cautious. Maia lands a good knee up the middle. Some more back and forth striking between both fighters. More measured striking between both competitors fairly even across the board with Jessica Eye taking the center of the octagon being the aggressor.

Maia lands a good head kick which has been her best strike along with her straight right all fight. Both ladies are feeling each other out with good exchanges from both Eye and Maia.

Each fighter is staying composed but Maia is mixing it up more throwing kicks while Eye is primarily boxing based. Eye lands a takedown with seconds left in the round with no damage done and her ending the round on top.

Action starts a little bit faster on the second round Jessica Eye still controlling the center of the octagon and being the aggressor. Maia has started to find her range with her hands and is landing a lot more than she did in round 1. Another takedown from Eye but this time Maia gets up almost immediately.

Jessica Eye still using her reach advantage with her boxing
skills but is mixing it up more with leg kicks this round. Pace is really starting to pick up
and what is pretty much a kickboxing match. Very hard shots from Maia who has now opened up a big cut on Jessica Eye’s forehead however it turns out it was due to a clash of heads and blood is gushing out of Eye with just seconds left to go in the round.

The third round starts with a measured pace from both fighters. Eye continues to
be the aggressor with Maia content to counter punch. Big right hand from
Maia but Jessica eats it like it’s nothing, Maia is landing combinations but no
effect on Eye. Pace has slowed a little bit as both fighters have been very measured not wanting to make a mistake.

Eye presses Maia up against the fence and her cut opens badly now with blood gushing out. The crowd comes alive in the final 30 seconds with Eye’s face covered in blood. Big knee
up the middle just grazes Eye’s head and Maia countering really well. Now both ladies winging big shots and going back and forth ending a very close and competitive fight with Jennifer Maia taking the unanimous decision 29-28, 29-28 and 30-27.
