Attempting to notch his fourth successful defence of the welterweight throne and knockback Masvidal for the second time during his reign, Usman is fresh from a third round knockout win over former Sanford MMA teammate, Gilbert Burns at UFC 248 in February.
For Masvidal, the American Top Team staple returns for the first time since his short-notice title matchup with Usman at UFC 251 last July on ‘Fight Island’ — where he dropped a one-sided unanimous decision loss. Hometown favourite, Masvidal makes his anticipated return to action, having enjoyed a career resurgence back in 2019 — which included blockbuster knockouts of Darren Till, a five-second, record-setting, flying-knee stoppage of Ben Askren, and a BMF championship win over Nate Diaz.
Rounding off the tripleheader of title tilts, Zhang Weili defends her strawweight title against Rose Namajunas, and flyweight queen, Valentina Shevchenko looks to prevent the uprise of former 115-pound best, Jessica Andrade.
