Kevin ‘Trailblazer’ Holland will have to wait a little bit longer for his UFC welterweight debut. Though he was scheduled to face Daniel Rodriguez Saturday night on a fourteen-day turnaround, Holland was not given medical clearance to compete.
Holland (17-5 MMA, 4-2 UFC) is coming off an impressive thirty-nine second TKO of Anthony Hernandez at middleweight on May 16th. and had expressed a desire to compete again right away. When offered the opportunity, he agreed to drop a weight class on two weeks notice to fight the fast-rising Daniel Rodriguez (11-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC).
A replacement opponent is likely being sought for Daniel Rodriguez. It is uncertain at this time how long Holland will be out of competition.
