Ukrainian flyweight challenger, Maryna ‘Iron Lady’ Moroz has been forced out of her UFC Fight Night pairing with Montana native, Montana De La Rosa on September 5th. – with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic preventing the European from gaining a valid VISA to compete on the card – which has yet to have a location or venue determined.

In her place, top-ten contender, Viviane ‘Vivi’ Araújo returns to meet with De La Rosa in a short-notice tie. The Brazilian was herself, removed from a recent UFC Fight Night Vegas pairing with compatriot, Jennifer Maia – with Joanne Calderwood replacing the former on short-notice after Araújo tested positive for COVID-19.

De La Rosa, the wife of UFC flyweight challenger, Mark De La Rosa – managed a return to the win column in her last outing, taking a unanimous decision win over Italian veteran, Mara Romero Borella at UFC Fight Night Rio Rancho in February. News of the reworked clash was first penned by Combate reporter, Raphael Marinho.

Former Pancrase strawweight titleholder, Araújo will make her fourth Octagon outing – hoping to prevent a second straight defeat, following a unanimous decision defeat to one-time title challenger, Jessica Eye at UFC 245 last December – with the latter tipping the flyweight scales at 131-pounds.

In her prior two bouts, the 33-year-old notched wins over Talita Bernardo, in a bantamweight contest, before making the cut to 125-pounds to take a judging win of her own opposite one-time title hopeful, Alexis Davis. From eight successful professional walks, Araújo has finished all but one inside the distance.

De La Rosa, a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter 26 – dropped out at the quarter-final stage after a unanimous decision loss to eventual tournament victor and inaugural flyweight best, Nicco Montaño

Making her Octagon debut at the show’s finale – De La Rosa secured an eye-catching armbar win over Christina Marks, before finishing both upstarts, Rachael Ostovich, and Nadia Kassem via a rear-naked choke and armbar, respectively. Prior to her win over the aforenoted, Borella – the 25-year-old found herself on the wrong side of a judging defeat to former LFA 125-pound best, Andrea ‘KGB’ Lee.
