Mike Perry, Steve-O, and Q Walk Into A Bar

What a strange week has transpired in the world of MMA, specifically, the UFC. It seems to be the only game in any town right now. Never in my wildest dreams could I imagine being able to link Steve-O, ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry, and the internet conspiracy/hoax “Qanon” all into one weeks worth of mixed martial arts news.

Let’s go back six days ago, Steve-O, according to his Instagram, was in Albuquerque, New Mexico at Jackson Wink, getting some training in with Holly Holm and Jon Jones. In his quest to get cauliflower ear, the Jackass star allowed UFC Light heavyweight Champion Jones to hit his ear with a hammer. The result appeared like what Evander Holyfield’s ear looked like after Mike Tyson took a second bite out of it.

On the same day, Perry posted a video of himself with a knicked up forehead and a set of bloody knuckles to match. Just days after video footage emerged of his manger defending Perry’s use of the N-word. Did I mention Perry fights Mickey Gall this Saturday night in the co-main event for UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker on ESPN?

As if things couldn’t get any stranger in the MMA world during these turbulent times, last Saturday night during UFC Fight Night Blaydes vs. Volkov, cutman Don House wore several badges on his shirt referencing Qanon, an internet conspiracy theory. According to Wikipedia Qanon is:

” is a far-right conspiracy theory[7][8] detailing a supposed secret plot by an alleged “deep state” against U.S. President Donald Trump and his supporters.[9] The theory began with an October 2017 post on the anonymous imageboard 4chan by someone using the name Q, who was presumably an American individual initially,[10] but probably later became a group of people,[11][12] claiming to have access to classified information involving the Trump administration and its opponents in the United States.”

House had a “Q” on the front of his shirt and across his left sleeve “WWG1WGA,’ which stands for “Where we go one we go all.”

My only questions are; will Perry’s marks from an apparent scuffle less than two weeks ago be completely healed come fight night, and where did he get that terrible haircut? Tune in to ESPN this Saturday night and find out.
