Report – Erin Blanchfield Signs With The UFC, Debuts Against Norma Dumont Viana On April 10th.

Uber-prospect, Erin ‘Cold Blooded’ Blanchfield has finally sealed a move to the UFC, and is set for her promotional debut in just ten days’ time as she replaces Bea Malecki on April 10th. — clashing with Norma Dumont Viana at UFC on ABC 2. The clash will take place at the bantamweight limit, however, Blanchfield is set to return to the flyweight ranks beyond her April 10th. debut outing.

New York native, Blanchfield arrives to the UFC riding a three-fight undefeated streak, last time out taking a unanimous decision victory over Brogan Walker-Sanchez at Invicta FC 41 in July of last year.

For Brazil’s Dumont Viana, the 5-1 former featherweight contender returned to the winner’s enclosure last November at UFC Vegas 15 — taking a unanimous decision victory over veteran contender, Ashlee Evans-Smith. News of the signing and debut of Blanchfield was first reported by ESPN MMA reporter, Ariel Helwani

With a professional record of 6-1 — 21-year-old Henzo Gracie Academy trainee Blanchfield has seen her sole professional loss come in a razor-thin split decision defeat to now fellow UFC bantamweight, for the time being, albeit, Tracey Cortez.

A five-fight Invicta FC alum as well as featuring twice under the Cage Fury Fighting Championships banner, Blanchfield has scored notable career victories over the likes of Kay Hansen, submission ace, Dana White’s Contender Series alum, and recent debutante, Victoria Leonardo with a massive high-kick knockout, as well as her July triumph over Walker-Sanchez. 

Putting a UFC Fight Night Norfolk knockout loss to most recent featherweight title challenger, Megan Anderson behind her in her organizational bow in February of last year, Dumont Viana immediately moved to the 135-pound bantamweight ranks afterward. 

Originally scheduled to tackle the above-mentioned, Malecki — Dumont Viana now clashes with Blanchfield on just ten days’ notice, attempting to add the 21-year-old upstart to a prior win over the aforenoted, Evans-Smith.
