The polarizing, ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry will feature at UFC 255 on November 21st. after all – opposite a new opponent.
Originally slated to clash with former welterweight champion, ‘Ruthless’ Robbie Lawler at the pay-per-view event, that matchup was shelved after Lawler withdrew due to injury. Flint, Michigan native, Perry recently brought a halt to a two-fight slide opposite both Vicente Luque and Geoff Neal, to score a unanimous decision win over Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu player, Mickey Gall at UFC Vegas 4 in June – where he was infamously cornered by a sole corner-person, his girlfriend, Latory Gonzalez.
Means, 36, himself rebounded to winning ways himself at UFC Vegas 6 in August, taking home a unanimous decision win over Laureano Staropoli in the featured preliminary tie. The win continued a recent trend of 50-50 wins for the knockout artist.
Thirteen fight Octagon veteran, Perry was initially campaigning for a short-notice matchup with the streaking, Khamzat ‘Borz’ Chimaev – as high as middleweight, but has instead been paired with Oklahoma native, Means, with Chimaev continuing preparations for his December 19th. headliner opposite perennial division contender, Leon ‘Rocky’ Edwards.
