Cody Garbrandt (12-3) ended his three-fight losing streak spectacularly by knocking out Raphael Assuncao (27-8) just before the bell rang with 4:59 seconds remaining in round number two.
Near the end of round two, Garbrandt found himself with his back up against the cage. Assuncao came storming in throwing a lazy combination. Garbrandt dipped down to his right, avoiding a right hand from Assuncao in the process. Returning fire with a hellacious right hook of his own. Sending Assuncao face-first toward the canvas as time expired in the round.
Garbrandt looks to be ready for another run at the bantamweight title in a stacked division on display this evening at UFC250
