Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu standout, Ryan ‘The Wizard’ Hall will have to wait to make his much-anticipated Octagon return. The Virginia native has been forced to withdraw from a second scheduled matchup with one-time featherweight title challenger, Ricardo ‘The Bully’ Lamas – due to injury.

This is the second time of asking that a meeting of Hall and Lamas has been set, and subsequently shelved – with an initial tie between the two scheduled for a May 2nd. event – which was postponed amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Yet to feature since July last year at UFC Fight Night Sacramento –  35-year-old grappling ace, Hall took a unanimous decision victory over 145-pound mainstay, Darren ‘The Damage’ Elkins.

The victory marked three straight wins in the promotion for Hall, following prior success opposite former two-weight world champion, B.J. Penn, and former lightweight title challenger, Gray Maynard. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt won The Ultimate Fighter 22 lightweight tournament, with a unanimous judging win over SBG staple, Artem Lobov back in December 2015.

With three defeats in his last four Octagon outings – Chicago, Illinois native, Lamas looks to prevent a two-fight slide. The veteran wrestler last featured at UFC 238 last June, dropping a first-round knockout defeat to New England Cartel featherweight contender, Calvin Kattar.

A sixteen fight UFC veteran, Lamas has bested the likes of Cub Swanson, Erik Koch, Dennis Bermudez, Diego Sanchez, Charles Oliveira, Jason Knight, and common opponent, the aforenoted, Elkins.
