UFC 267 – Khamzat Chimaev Set For Comeback Against Li Jingliang On October 30.

Undefeated finisher, Chimaev is set for his first Octagon walk since September as he draws Jingliang at UFC 267 on October 30.

A welterweight showdown between the undefeated finisher, Khamzat ‘Borz’ Chimaev, and knockout ace, Li ‘The Leech’ Jingliang has been booked to feature at UFC 267 on October 30. — with the promotion expected to return to ‘Fight Island’ in Abu Dhabi, UAE for the event.

Slated to make his first Octagon walk since September of last year, Chimaev last featured against grappler, Gerald Meerschaert at UFC Vegas 11 — stopping the Roufusport mainstay with a 17-second one-punch knockout.

For Xinjiang native, Jingliang he featured at UFC on ABC 1 in January against the returning Santiago Ponzinibbio — handing the returner a massive one-punch knockout likewise with a late first round shot. News of the matchup between Chimaev and Jingliang was first reported by OctagonBet

Undefeated as a professional sporting a 9-0 record, Chechnya-born finisher Chimaev has been limited to Octagon outings since September, with three scheduled matchups against the #3 ranked welterweight standout, Leon Edwards cancelled, twice of which amid his lingering health issues following a positive COVID-19 test. 

Making his Octagon bow back in July of last year at UFC Fight Island 1, former Brave CF standout, Chimaev made short work of John Philips via a second round D’Arce choke, before returning just 10-days later to defeat former Cage Warriors striker, Rhys McKee.

Making his North American debut back in September, Chimaev bested the aforenoted, Meerschaert on the main card of UFC Vegas 11. 

18-6 as a professional, 33-year-old striker, Jingliang has featured 14-times under the UFC’s banner — making his promotional bow back at UFC 173 in May of 2014. With nine knockout victories to go with four submission stoppages, Jingliang has scored an eye-catching 10-4 Octagon résumé.

The Team Alpha MMA trainee has managed to take home notable victories against the likes of Dhiego Lima, Frank Camacho, Zak Ottow, David Zawada, Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos, and the aforenoted, Ponzinibbio.

UFC 267 takes place on October 30. — with an undisputed light heavyweight championship bout between the reigning, Jan Blachowicz and the #1 ranked challenger, Glover Teixeira scheduled for the pay-per-view showcase.
