Former UFC flyweight, Rachael Ostovich has put pen to paper on a deal to link up with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, following her December release from the UFC.
Ostovich, 30 had competed four times under the UFC’s banner prior to her December release, most recently featuring at UFC Vegas 15 in November, where she fell to a third round knockout loss to Gina Mazany following a couple of knees to the body.
Releasing a promotional image on their official Instagram tonight, BKFC confirmed the acquisition of Ostovich. “SIGNED!! Welcome to the BKFC @rachaelostovich.“
A ten-fight professional veteran, Ostovich holds a 6-4 record since her professional debut back in January of 2014. A contestant on The Ultimate Fighter 26 in 2017, Ostovich picked up an opening round rear-naked choke win over Melinda Fabian during the preliminary round of the reality show, before suffering a unanimous decision loss to Barb Honchak at the quarter final stage.
Competing four times under the Invicta FC banner, Ostovich went 2-2 over the course of three years with the promotion, picking up triumphs over both Evva Johnson and Ariel Black, in between defeats to Andrea Lee and Christine Ferea.
Prior to the loss to Mazany, Ostovich blemished against recent BKFC debutante, Paige VanZant after a third round rear-naked choke defeat to Montana De La Rosa. In her sole Octagon success, the Hawaiian managed an armbar win of her own in December of 2019 Karine Gervogyan.
Ostovich becomes the latest high-profile signing by the David Feldman-led promotion, following the signature of another UFC and Invicta FC alum, Pearl Gonzalez last week.
