UFC Columbus relocated to the UFC Apex in Las Vegas due to coronavirus pandemic

The March 28th. event has been moved from Ohio to Nevada

UFC Fight Night Columbus on March 28th. – is expected to be moved to the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, as a precautionary measure due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The event, which is scheduled to be headlined by a heavyweight title-eliminator between Francis Ngannou, and Jairzinho Rozenstruik is the latest event the pandemic has affected, after UFC Fight Night Brasília was forced to be held behind closed doors, with a closed gate. News of the venue change was initially reported by Brazilian outlet, Combate.

The UFC Apex plays host to Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contenders Series, and according to the initial report, will provide UFC Fight Night Columbus with a venue for the twelve fight card. Earlier this week, Ohio Governor Mike Dewine urged people to avoid large public gatherings – after the World Health Organisation declared the rapidly spreading coronavirus, as a global pandemic.

As of writing, the U.K. has entered the “delay” stage as they attempt to cope with the spread of the virus, with UFC Fight Night London currently in limbo. This evening, New York State announced it will be banning public gatherings of more than five-hundred people as they attempt to tackle the spread of coronavirus, putting the lightweight title pairing of Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson at UFC 249 in Brooklyn, in jeopardy.
